Aaron Mertz

Aaron is the Budget & Research Director for the City of Phoenix. Aaron has worked in the Budget & Research Department since 2009, after completing the City’s year-long Management Fellowship Program. He has significant experience with both capital and operating budgets, including budget development, financial analysis and forecasting, and policy and programmatic research.

Aaron is a Phoenix native and has prior work and volunteer experience with the Arizona State Senate, UMOM New Day Centers, and Neighborhood Ministries. He also serves on the City of Phoenix Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan Board of Trustees. Aaron holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Arizona.
