The Phoenix Community Development & Investment Corporation launched a $1 million Verma & Ed Pastor Scholarship Fund to honor the life, legacy, and positive community impacts of the former Arizona Congressman.
Scholarships will support post-secondary education for students with financial need attending a 2-year college or 4-year university in Maricopa County. Preference will go to high school seniors, first-time college students, and adult re-entry students ages 18-24.
Scholarships will be awarded in amounts of $2,500 (Community College) and $5,000 (University level) and distributed directly to schools. Each scholarship is renewable for one additional year (maximum of two awards) if students are in good standing and maintain the required GPA.
The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) administers the scholarship fund for PCDIC. Interested students must apply through the ACF scholarship portal.
The final deadline to apply is May 15, 2019, however students will be matched with 100+ other scholarships when they apply by the first deadline of March 15, 2019.
